Carling Cup

The Carling cup is the competition that many see as the “mickey mouse cup” of English football, but Sunday afternoon proved that theory wrong. Aston Villa and Manchester United both fielded strong sides and played flat out for the first 90 minutes. It was a fantastic game that ended in a 2-1 win for Manchester United and them lifting the first available silverware of the season.

Who is better?

The title is still in the balance with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal all grappling for the top spot. In trying to distinguish who can go all the way many factors can be taken into consideration. The solid Chelsea back line, while Man United and Arsenal are still shaky in the defensive third. Or is it the buccaneering midfield of Arsenal, and talisman Cesc Fabregas. Between him, and his fellow midfielders they have provided 25 of the Gunners 63 goals in the league this season.
