Madden is taking some cues from the over-the-top football game NFL Blitz. EA Sports announces on their website that they are going to release Madden Arcade sometime in December. Madden Arcade will be available for download on Xbox Live and the PSN for around USD $14.99.
It's going to allow players to take a break from all the simulation crap and play Madden without worries of being called for penalties. There are also no pansy attempts for field goals. Madden Arcade will feature 5-on-5 gameplay featuring the five best players on each side.
According to EA Sports additional features include "13 unique "Game Changers" to break the game wide open on a single play. Add an entourage of lineman to get the sack, freeze an opposing player, turn off your opponent's passing icons, and much more. No lead is safe in Madden NFL Arcade."
One can't notice that the premise is reminiscent of NFL Blitz sans the late hits, extended player celebrations and wrestling moves. Heck, if Madden is gonna go that way, why don't they add a devastating stiff arm move.

It seems that EA is reaching out to casual football fans that just want to have fun without the risk of being verbally abused by Madden veterans online. A separate report stated that Ochocinco will be finally allowed to tweet in Madden Arcade without being fined.
