The Last of the Perfects Were Knocked Out

5 Teams of the Super 6 Played on Nov. 06,2009

Celtics (6-1) VS Suns (5-1)

Jason Richardson kind of lost his mojo the last game where the Suns suffered their first defeat but now against the Celtics it seems he found them. He scored 34 points and 10 rebounds, 6/7 from the 3 point line.  It was amazing. The Celtics had Kevin Garnett in beautiful shape too, he scored 26 points, the most he has put up since the last season injuries. The Suns were just out for blood after their first loss. They bested the Celtic a prideful 110-103. Steve Nash, always on his toes for improvement had double-double 16 points and 12 assists. They had to break Bostons almost three year record of coming in 7-0 to start their seasons. Rajon Rondo had 14 with 11 assists, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen had 16 each and Rasheed just had 8 missing all of his 6 3 point shot attempts. Seems he just couldn't buy a bucket.

Richardson was the story of the night. We all know that his stupidity got him suspended for two games because he was arrested and convicted for drunk driving when the season started. It seems he wasn't that stupid last night as he scored the first 8 points for his franchise team. Rasheed Wallace was supposed to be tonight's hero.  Had he finished that last shot that would've gotten his team closer to tying the Suns. It would have been enough to raise their moral enough for a rally. Alas we all know that wallace seems to be out of practice from downtown tonight. Tough luck.

Magics (5-1) VS Pistons (2-4)

Orlando, what can we all say about this team. Last season they were in the Finals, and now they are one of the top seeded teams in both divisions. 5-1. Only six teams left with just one loss, there's Boston, Miami, Denver, Phoenix, Champion L.A. and of course Orlando. The Pistons may have been a powerhouse team. The key word is "been." They once were, they are not now. They open the season with  2-4 after getting beat by the Magics 110-103. Although the Magics were performing below their level the Pistons poor free throwing doomed them to get beat. Vince Carter and Rashard Lewis were absent for this game because of different reasons. Vince sprained his ankle the game before and had to sit out this game. Rashard Lewis was suspended for 10 games because of steroids use.

The Magics also handed the Suns their first loss, these teams seem to be knocking each other out as the Suns handed the Celtics their first loss. It seems that these 6 power teams are the teams to watch when they play each other.

To illustrate how the Pistons were such bad free throw shooters, they missed 14 out of their 37 shots from the charity stripe. They were down only seven, so if they made more than 50 percent of what they missed they would've won the game. The Detroit has been a thorn in Orlando's side this season. They were also the only team to beat the Orlando Magics thus far. Dwight howard had 22 and 12 but fouled out with a few minutes left in the fourth. Charlie Villanueva exploded in the fourth scoring 22 of his 28 points. Forward Ryan Anderson was also injured in the third quarter. Another ankle injury for the Magics. He is questionable to play the next few games but it is still not certain.

Nuggets (5-1) VS Heat (5-1)

The Nuggets were also starting a good season and both they and the Celtics fell that night. This night no more perfect season teams remain. The Heat is also a power house this season, three of them among the east with just one defeat. When the Nuggets came in they were 5-0, the Heat 4-1, now it is even after handing each other what seem to be equalizers. The Nuggets did not perform all too well in this game. It was all Carmelo Anthony, 30 big points from him. But without Melo, the Nuggets managed only 12/35 shots for the first 36 minutes. I mean those stats are devastatingly low, embarrassing even. They got their asses handed to them by the Heat 96-88.

Dwyane Wade scored 22 points and J.O. added 18 of his own. Mario Chalmers scored 16 points and Q had 13. Haslem finished with double-double 11 points and 10 rebounds. The Heat were blazing hot as they melted their Nugget opponent into a bubbling ooze of dismay. This offensive power that they radiated was just too much for Carmelo and his upstarts. Plus as the nuggets seem to struggle offensively, this was the best time to capitalize and deepen their wounds. This was the first time that the Heat bested Denver since December 4, 2004.
