ARBITRO Tagliavento di Terni.

A perfect day for a really big match: Juventus-Roma, Stadio Olimpico, Torino. The night is very cold -6 Celsius degree. I  was freezing. The field is not in good shape as usual. It will be an hard game for both the teams. Ferrara's Juve is in free fall. A few losses in a row, out of tha Champions, not a good moment. Let's see how the game gone. Del Piero opened the scoring with a left, Totti equalized the score on a penalty kick.  After this, Buffon has been expelled because a faul on the Norwegian player Riise. The same Norwegian had decided the game for the final, sending the Giallorossi to +5 on Juventus and -8 to F.C.Inter who leads the chart. Six defeats in the last 8 games in the league for the Bianconeri (Juventus) is not good if you were compete for the title or at least for the Champions positions.del piero Torino, 23 January 2010 - The Revenge of Ranieri is accomplished. Served cold, from a Norwegian, Riise, in the recovery time, to send Juventus a little more all'nferno (to hell) in the Italian league. Header from Riise cross by Pizarro, who had eradicated the ball from Diego. Pizarro did have a good game, especially in the defendive midfield role. Two to one and a great time for Rome. The result contains perhaps more than what Roma has deserved. The draw was good. But at least who scores wins the game, the statistics are only for the journalists. But at this stage, it's all wrong for Juventus. The Torino team had a good game against the Giallorossi (a very good team, maybe the best at this moment in the league). Juventus has brought  together its best performance of 2010 (not that it was too difficult). The game started slowly, the first part was boring. Juve went ahead with Del Piero scoring with a masterpiece from the captain. When Buffon had ejected in the last minutes and Juve had remained in ten man, "il Capitano" Del Piero had to go out to let Manninger (the second keeper) in. After Riise had caused the expulsion of the Italian goalkeeper the Norwegian was not satisfied yet. Riise brought his team to an amazing victory at the 49'. Rome to +5 on the Bianconeri, and -8 from Inter. Raise your hand if you thought so at the Luciano Spalleti's period.  Ranieri's offensive plans, had been blown after 2 minutes, when Luca Toni got injured. He suffered the same problem during the week, but Ranieri had tried him anyway. It takes a bit for Totti to enter on the field in Toni's place, because Totti didn't have his shoes to play (strange for a professional player), then another ten minutes to play at slow pace. Totti needed few minutes to warm up cause he had just came back from an injury.

DEL PIERO e TOTTI-

Before this week they had exchanged compliments from their sites, then they had played the game. The 2 captains, the most rapresentative players for thier 2 teams for 10 years. Del Piero opened, Totti replied, the two stars had built the match. They didn't play at their usual personal performance levels. The goal for Juventus arrived at the 6' after the start of the second half. It was lucky in birth, cause the ball has arrived to Del Piero from a deflection, but "il Capitano" made a magic touch to score a wonderful goal. What a beautiful conclusion. Diego tried to give the ball to Amauri, Juan deflected the pass, raising it towards the area to Del Piero, who has invented a great conclusion. At the 23' Totti had converted  the penalty, given by the refree for a foul that Grosso (one of the worst on the field) did on the Brazilian right wing Taddei, who had jumped when dribbling. The action was random. It was born from a ball that Chiellini was not able to kick out properly. One of the 2 or 3 errors that the defender of the Italian national team has done in all the season. Chiellini is one of the best defender of the world in my humble opinion. Pizarro did the rest and served the Brazilian near the area. One easy dribling and Grosso made the rest.totti

Sissoko's return from the Africa Cup was not enough to revitalize the roar of the midfield. Sissoko, which gave dynamism and presence in coverage, and then sat the ball back to Diego in the construction phase, was not enough to change the destiny of the team. Sissoko has played a good game. The Brazilian continued his slight growth. He is not at the levels of the first leg in Rome, when the adaptation to the Italian championship seemed a formality, but the signs are encouraging. In my opinion he had played well. Not like he can, but a step forward. More protected, Juventus's defense had seemed better than in the last games. Grygera had pushed on the wing while Sissoko covered him. Sure, Dani Alves and Maicon are another thing, but some good crosses arrived. Pity that Amauri did not have the usual familiarity with the goal that he had last year. The Brazilian got many chances, but the conclusions were never precise or lucky. The new purchase Candreva played only the last part of the game. Candreva and Saliamizic had been both late on the cross that Pizarro gave to Riise to get the final score. But to be honest, I do not understand why Ferrara put out Candreva and Saliamizic on the wings. Is this Juventus or a Serie B team? What do you think? Farrara took a risk and he had paid for that. He is not a very good coach in my opinion. This is his first complete season and he has to run one of the biggest teams in italy. Not an easy challenge, a lot of pressure from everywhere. The series continues, the black out of one of the most important teams in Italy is continuing (6 defeats in last 8). Ranieri beat Juve for the first time (in 12 times). And to say the truth, Buffon was inoperable for 45'. But  everybody knows the score is made by goals and not by statistics.
